Hey guys. I have had this frogskin for about 2 months, and he has actually grown quite a bit, but he is not close to the color he was when I got him. What do you guys think is going on with him? It looks like he is morphing, idk. I do run a ULNS system, and I have him at the top of the tank. 6t5s.

Probably adjusting to the ULNS, but since he's at the top I would consider lowering him to about halfway or so and see if he shows any improvement over the next few weeks, the colors look light.

To anyone that has an ORA frogskin, where do you have it placed? On the ORA website it states it can be placed anywhere in the tank, so I'm guessing it is one of there less light-loving acros. The weird thing is, this frag is actually growing rather quickly.

I have a piece of ORA Frogskin and Im just throwing it out there that your photo isnt one.

Mine looks nothing like that and certainly doesnt have blue polyps

It looks like one to me, the shape an coralite structure look like one. I've seen green corals turn a sort of grayish-purplish-blueish in places under too much light, too much GFO, or too few nutrients.

It's definitely a frogskin. From ORA-

The ORA Frogskin Acro is a stocky branched coral having extremely bumpy texture and colors that vary from yellowish to bright green with shades of purple depending on lighting conditions. The corallites are rotund and tubular and some of the polyps have a slightly blue hue. The spectacular mature colony shape is what makes this coral so unique. As it grows, branches fuse together making solid plates and a solid inner core from which the branches extend.

I shouldn't really have too much light; I only have 6x54 watters on my 75. I am thinking it could be lack of nutrients, as I run a ULNS. My other corals aren't really affected though. Maybe I should feed more. I feed a pretty good size chunk of Rod's Food everyday.

T-5's can be surprisingly powerful, I would not start it out at the top. It's probably a combinationof the two factors and the fact that it's going through an adjustment period

when my tank crashed my frogskin looked like that. I had a terrible bacteria bloom followed by a really bad algae bloom. Hows the rest of your tank looking?

everything else looks good. I used to use vodka in this tank, but now I'm using that new Red Sea Po4:N03 stuff, which is really I like a whole lot better than vodka, btw. I think I'll just move the frogskin down a bit.
