Frogspawn has bugs? My treatment.

I have a big frogspawn that over the last few months, hasnt been filled out like it normally was in the past. The heads are 70% retracted and are not expanded out. After a closer look, I noticed hundreds of the tiniest white specs all over the flesh. The white specs couldnt be much smaller and be visible to the naked eye. After watching these tiny specs, I noticed they were alive and crawiling all over the heads.

My frogspawn had bugs. No idea what kind.

I had tried a lugols dip, but that did nothing at all. I wasnt sure what to do since I couldnt find any information on pests that live on these types of corals.

So, I had some inteceptor left over from my treatment of red bugs on a coupe incoming SPS frags. I thought what the heck, and made up a couple gallons of water and put in some inteceptor. I added a few times more inteceptor to the water than what was recomended for treating SPS. I only treated the coral for a about an hour then took it out and put it back in the tank. The next day, the frogspawn was all fluffy again and almost back to its original self. The inteceptor treatment worked great.

I still notice some bugs left on the flesh, maybe about .05% of the coral is covered, compared to 30% before treament. So, I figure I would treat the coral again and for a little longer since the coral responded so favorably to the treatment.

So, can anyone tell me more about what these bugs/pests could be? Im assuming a sort of crustacean, as thats what inteceptor kills.

I dunno, I had a bunch on my frogspawn too. I simply got a sixline wrasse, and that took care of the problem. Whatever was on my coral didn't seem to eat/attack the coral, but was simply an irritant due to the large numbers on the coral. They probably have a natural predator that isn't present in our tanks.

I can't really help you with identification, but there are so many "little bugs" that it would be hard to tell for sure. Mine were white and small, looked a little like copepods. I wouldn't worry about it though, if you've got a way to erradicate the little buggers, then you've got nothing to worry about ;) .

Yeah, I seen no evidence of damage, they just irritated the frogspawn so it wouldnt open up fully.

I thought I would post my experiance in fixing the problem with inteceptor since a lugos dip wouldnt work. I would like to know what type of bug Im working with, just out of curiosity.

do not reccomend it at all but, i FW dipped mine for about a min., all of the bugs gone.. a day later the frogspawn was triple the size the day before while it had bugs on it.. and it is growing very well..

yes, i have this little bugs too. should i do a freshwater dip? will this help me out? and for how long should i dip? thanks guys.
