Frogspawn issue, base rotting

Can anyone help explain what may be happening with my frogspawn. The base looks like it is rotting away. The light brown spot has doubled in size the last few days.

That brown spot doesn't look like it's a part of the polyp.

Idk but it looks to me that's where it was fragged at. How long have you had the coral? It looks fine in the pictures you posted.

I've had it a few weeks, that spot was 1/4 the size when I got it. I'll wait and see what happens. Thanks!

Looks like new growth to me, also...kudos to you for always remaining on alert and paying attention, though!!!

It is common for the flesh around the stalk of branching Euphyllia to follow the upwards growth of the polyp leaving the skeleton exposed as you see there. Usually an inch or three remains on the stalk beneath the polyp. If it all goes away that's a problem.
