Frogspawn stalk

My frog spawn has a huge stalk, about 6", and I'm wondering if I can shorten the stalk. If so, how do I do this? Here is a crappy pic of it. She is wedge between the LR and back wall, hovering above the ground.

You should be able to shorten that. Just don't get too close to the - maybe cut where the the indentation is where it changes from a lighter color to darker. Use a dremel or a bone/hack saw to cut it...whatever can get a pretty clean cut. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. So do I remove her from the water to trim her stalk, or cut it while she is submerged in a 5 gal bucket? I would think in the 5 gal.

I always cut out of the water. It only takes a couple of minutes and they are fine being out of water for a few minutes.
