Frogspawn with Clowns

I recently bought one for my clown with the same aspirations. Right after I put it into the tank, it swam down, looked at it and same back to its corner at the top of the tank. I am still hopeful it will host it after awhile, but I may just break down and get a BTA. Who knows... clowns are weird.

I've got a frogspawn and a torch hoping the clowns would host them. They stay away from the flowerpot as well. I bought an BTA yesterday and they don't seem to care about that either.

do frogspawn, or clowns benefit from that relationship, like a nem would?

I am going to have a mixed reef, and want clowns, and would love to have them host something, but wondering if it would bother either fish or coral?

My tank's kinda small, that's why I don't want to go with a nem in a mixed.

I have two clowns hosting in a torch coral. The are kinda aggressive with it and it looks really upset.... doesnt open as much anymore....

in my opinion the clownfish do more harm to frogspawns then anything if they choose to host it. they will start to get irritated by it after a while.

all depends on on how big the clowns are and what kind they are. Maroons are very aggressive with loving their host to death. i have the same tank as you and i got a 7"+ RBTA in it.your best idea is to get a nem like a sebae for them to host in, it will hold up better and they are smallerish in terms of other nems. i had a GSM host in my RBTA and now i got a pair of snowcasso's and one is only in the nem now and i am waiting for the other to be allowed in it.. it only took like 2 weeks for the clowns to find the nem.

if you want to use a trick to get them to try and host try this one i heard. at lights out get a flasklight and shine it on the frogspawn or whatever you might have. the clowns will follow the light and go into it.
