Hi guys i havent posted in here for a while and now am on a new account, i am finaly updating my tank from a 40 gallon to 125 gallons, am very excited about the big change wich will mean alot of more fishes but i got a couple question on the prosses, i got some live stuff in my tank wich ive had for over a year, my mated pair of black onyx true perculas, blue hipo tang and a spanish hog and a couple of corals and a rose anemone ive grown attached to these guys and i wana know if theres something i can do so that when i change into the big tank i dont have to go trew a brand new cycle and loose all my life stock, iono maybe adding all the sand from my tank into that one wich am going to do anyways and adding all the bio-balls and the same rock with the addition to like 30 pounds more of some live rock cured and maybe some high ammounts of cycle will this help? and about the equipment am aslo going now into Metal halides, the one am getting has 2 175 watts metal halides and i belive like 2 65 watts blue with 6 blue moons is this enough? let me know guys thanks and sorry for long post.

welcome

adding any benificial bacteria holding media from your tank will help shorten the cycle. i would test before adding livestock and atleast give it a day or two to settle in

your lights will be fine for most lps and sps if there very high in the tank, you could double up on the atinics though

I was thinking of letting the fish stay in my 40gallon tank for 1 or 2 weeks but then i cant use the sand or rock or watrer nor the bioballs for the new tank so then what do i do?
