My 2" carpet anemone just ate my two magneto clownfish so frustrating seen those two go. Can't believe that such of small anemone will eat two clowns like that to bad I could get to the camera fast enough..

Exactly what it was. He had him a nice expensive snack. I had a Haddoni eat a giant scooter blenny I found one day. I was upset.

Gig's, Haddoni's, and Mags....even though they're host anemones, they can and will eat fish. Although, it's not very common. It does happen from time to time. This...is one of those times.

Maybe the nem was very hungry and that why he ate the clown fishes, but it is not common to eat a host fish.

Sorry for your loss

Haddonis are known for eating clowns that are not natural hosts. Though not common, there have been many accounts of this.

I've never heard of it with any other nem species.

Here's a list of natural pairings--

Stichodactyla haddoni (haddon's, saddleback, carpet, or sand carpet)
A. akindynos
A. chrysogaster
A. chrysopterus
A. clarkii
A. polymnus
A. sebae

Sooo..........if you have a pair of those designer type percs or occis be aware that a haddoni host can possibly eat them.

Dear god. That is the wrong sand for that anemone. No wonder it ate your fish. It is probably ****ed off about the crushed coral that feels like razor blades.

Yariel,

You had a post up yesterday about trimming your corals and sent me a few picks. Now I can't find your post or reply to you? What happened?
