I have a different preference of sizes Zooid. I use C2 for grow out. The main reason is it floats better than C1. Therefore there is less waste. Also I can crush it between my fingers if needed to make it a bit smaller for fish that are too big for B but too small for C2. I'm using B1 right now but I think its a bit small. I may get some B2.

You're right, there is some waste with C1 but my clowns start coming out of the water when they see the food coming hehe. I like B1 because I can use a mortar and pestle to grind it and feed it to my little guys at about day 5 and then feed them straight B1 at about 2 weeks. I've done it this way and haven't fed BBS at all. Sure makes things easier.
Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll try some C2 since it floats better.

it doesn't hurt to get your sponge filters ahead of time - you can run them in your sump to get them charged with the 11 herbs and spices needed for slaying ammonia in your larval tank. as to type, i just use a piece of pvc with an end cap on the bottom, numerous holes drilled with sponge over them, and an airline - pretty much whatever you use will be fine.
