FS: 5 Yellow Fiji Leathers

Thanks KosB21. The seller could have been telling the truth. They could have come from Fiji.;) They just aren't yellow toad stools.

Take care,
Bill

Bill, just to be clear, I wasn't trying to be critical of you either. I was just trying to point out that in my experience I have had a Fijiian Yellow Leather turn to a light greenish brown and become thinner in the disc. By doing so it looked like a toad-stool. The process took several months and at one point I thought the leather was going to die. Eventually it did about a year later, not exactly sure why. I have had several others over the years that just melted away as you described, not morphing. Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced the morphing. But based on how some hard corals can vary in morphology in different environmental conditions, it isn't completely bizarre. The one that morphed was a true Fijiian Leather, not a dyed toad stool. I guess if KosB21 bought those leathers as they currently appear in his photos, then he was riped off or atleast lied to. Just to be clear, I'm not arguing that he should even call those Yellow Leathers. Enough of me babling, take care :)

Well when i purchased my leather the seller informed me that it was a fiji leather but now looking into it, my leathers are clearing toadstool with a hint of yeallow under my lighting.
J4Life I didn't think at all that you were denouncing my info but were only trying to inform me. Thanks for the info.

All i have to do now is make a new thread.

what?...where the hell am I supposed to put the food?

no, there is no feeding, man. Just lighting.:D

Yeah, I don't know you from Adam, but I clearly thought you were being honest from the get go! Thanks for clarifying how you came to your conclusions!

Both "toadstools" and "Tonga/Fiji yellow leathers" are Sarcophyton spp. They are pretty closely related.

A healthy yellow leather is gorgeous (love mine!), but that's a nice looking toadstool in the photos.
