After some months I have decided to become a one tank man, so I am selling my larger 55 Gal Tank. See profile for some pictures. I will post more later. I would like to keep complete for now.
Hardware:
55 Gal Glass Tank
Custom built stand - 3/4 MDF w/ 4x4 posts and black Laquered (way overkill but very strong, no center post and open back)
Matching Hood
48" 65w PC - 2 10k and 2 blues - 2 months old
Custom Built sump (designed with help from RC members and built by Tap plastics) 1/4 acrylic for walls, euro braced with 3/8
36"W x 16"T x 18"D (divided into 3 12" sections intake/skimmer, return, refuge)
Mag 7 return pump
Life Reef Hang on dual overflow (overkill for 55 gal but I thought I would upgrade) I have never once had a problem with this overflow, because with the Mag 7 it only uses one down spout, leaving the other side for emergency.
With the size of the sump being so large a 1/3 of the main tank could flow back into sump without overflowing. But any siphon that would be causing the backflow would long be broken before that amount of water would enter the sump. But just in case I have a valve on the return plumbing to stop such back flows.
Livestock:
Blue Carpet Anemone 8" across
10" Tall Kenya Tree -pinkish
small pink leather
a dozen sun coral heads on two small rocks
and some small mushrooms blue to purple in color
Liverock:
100+ lbs
refuge: 30 - 40 lbs with chaeto
main tank: 60 - 70 lbs all with great color
2-3" livesand bed ( fine)
$500 for everything listed above
$700 with everything listed above and Euro Reef ES5-3
