Now that is going to be sweet. Have you seen Oceans Floor's large reef pond in Illinois? If not, you could get some really good ideas from them.

Saw their tank set up on their website. Doing something pretty casual. Remodeling will be finished next week and thats when the basement renovation will start taking place. Doing a 16ft long x 4ft wide x 2 1/2ft tall type set up. Running 2 Deltecs for Skimming with a 200g sump and 300g fug so they have more then adequete filtration.Once the project gets started I'll start on a build thread. Anyone in Milwaukee is more then welcome to come check it out during its building or after its finished. Also Prugs Im going for something kind of contemporary yet modern. Possibly Marble or some type of slate type rock.

Wow! Are you building that tank yourself or having it built. Acrylic?

Simular to oceans floor type design

?? Dont think I ever saw it. Is it glass or acrylic? I'm thinking it must be acrylic.

Oceans Floor has a pond style tank in the corner of their store, that is made using interlocking blocks with a pond liner. It's a look down only tank. Super cheap to build considering the size.
But there are some draw backs to large tanks, lots of evaporation, & humidity issues to deal with.

if this 1000+ gallons is a reef what are you using for lighting? I'm thinking something in the range of 7,000 watts of lighting or a three 20 watt breakers.

lol good luck with that

Chad next time you are in the city stop by and check out my progress. Sometime next week I'll put up a build thread with pictures. I dont have alot of time for coral keeping and needed my tanks out of my living room to make room for my pool table but didnt want to get rid of my current fish and instead of buying a big 300+ for my wifes baby banded cat shark the pond like set up in the basement was the best and most cost effective way to go. The only expensive part is going to be installing the 2 deltecs running it. Going to be running 6 vortechs for my flow and Iwaki return pumps for the fug sump and main tank for returns.

LOL! I'm surprised to not read something like "1000 gallon coffin" Epon, you're slippin buddy! :D

Good Lord! ... here we go again. :rolleye1: I hope you do your homework this time Deceptive!

lol, the vortechs wouldn't do to well (even though I really like the 4 I am running right now) with the thick walls and you would not be able to have them in the aquarium as the driver part of the vortechs can not get wet.

Also price lowered on my tank to $150 with everything. Take it and I'll even throw my wife in for free. Such a good deal !!!
