FS: 90G AGA Tank and Custom Maple Stand

Hey Folks,

I am downsizing after a long run with my 90 gallon. I am selling a 90 Gallon AGA tank (48"L x 18"D x 24"H) with a corner overflow / light oak trim and a custom maple stand. The stand was designed by me and built by a guy named Todd through Living Sea. Ted or (Skullv) purchased the matching canopy from me awhile back so if you really want that, you might want to contact him to see if he is willing to sell it now. I purchased all items new back in 1998 and still have receipts so you will know I'm not making things up on the cost for the stand. The stand would work for Aqueon / AGA 75 and 90 gallon tanks or any with a 48L x 18D footprint. The exact footprint for the tank is 48 ½" x 18 ½". The stand finish is a honey color, matches the Crate & Barrel honey color for the most part. It is a clean look and would compliment a rimless tank well. Other than the hinges being a little rusty inside the stand, it is in excellent condition. Only ran it with a sump underneath for about 5 years, after that, had a dedicated mechanical room.
I will separate the tank and the stand so that is not a problem if you are interested in either of them individually. There are some pictures in my albums.

The stand was $475 new, I am asking $250. If I can't get a reasonable offer for the stand, I will probably keep it and use it for another project of my own.
The tank is still functional with no leaks but is not a perfect show tank. It is empty and clean now sitting on the stand. The overflow will need vinegar cleaning if you want it back to black. I modified the overflow slightly to increase surface skimming and flow. No scratches in the glass, back is tinted / smoked out with automotive window tint film. It is in good shape but it could be removed although I thought it worked really well. I am asking $75 for the tank.

I have pictures in my albums but can send more detailed pictures via e:mail.
Location for pick-up is Elmhurst. I can help you get whatever you buy into your vehicle.

Thanks,
Jeff

I've got a little interest but no buyers yet.

Here are my price changes:

90 Gallon AGA Tank Plus Stand $250 (Essentially, you buy the stand, the tank is yours for free).

Stand Alone - Remains $250 Just want the stand but don't want the tank, price for the stand remains $250.

Just the tank but don't want the stand, new price for just the tank is $50.

If you purchase any of the items at this pricing, I will include a 4x96 watt Custom Sea Life retrofit PC lighting kit including the 4 bulbs. Two 10,000k daylight and two 460 nm bulbs.

Thanks for looking.

Forgot to mention, the 90 was my display tank. No copper or other meds. have been used in this tank ever.

It could be used as a fuge or sump at very little cost on a larger system. The sides can be drilled. In fact, if you want it drilled for 1" anywhere, I might be willing to help you out with that.

That being said, this would be a great QT, holding or hospital tank for folks with larger systems. You shouldn't QT larger fish, angels, tangs and the like in what most consider for QT like 15G or 40B tanks. Those fish need space so they are not stressed during that time.

Thanks for looking. The price can't get much more reasonable for the tank.

mrFly,

There are a couple pictures in my albums so if you click on my login id you can get to my photo album with a couple pictures in there. I was without any photo editor software for awhile and I just got PSP x4 so if I get a chance, I may try to add a couple to the thread. I can easily send additional pictures via e:mail to anyone that wants them. Just send me a pm with an e:mail address where you want the pics. sent.

Regards,

Jeff

Ok, got a basic shot up now that I know how to resize the pictures in PSP I can post more later. This was taken as I was removing the rock work and preparing to drain the tank. It is empty now, and cleaned up. As I mentioned earlier, another local reefer purchased the top. Sure you don't need the stand Ted? :-)

If moving everything over to the stand didn't involve emptying and refilling my tank I would be alllll over it!

I am interested in the tank. Shoot me an email if you still have it for sale. I can come by any time on THursday to pick it up. acemas @ gmail.com

thanks

Did a final clean up on the tank and removed the old bulkheads this evening. I've got a couple folks that have mentioned coming to get it either tomorrow or Friday but who knows so it will go to the first person that either comes to my home to get it with cash in hand or if someone wants to Paypal gift me the $50 for the tank that will hold it for you. It is lift and load at this point. Tank is being stored as shown until it has a buyer.

Sorry about the reflections, tough to get a better shot with the point and shoot. I found one small scratch in the front glass, it wasn't there when it was up and running so I must have got it emptying it and cleaning it out.

Well I guess the mention of a scratch on a $50 tank scared off my buyer. Price is now $40. Not going any lower, just not worth the hastle at that point. Tank will go to the curb in April during the free spring clean up our town does each year.

The tank has plenty of potential uses, just probably not a primary show tank, the price reflects that.

Tank is SOLD. Buyer had a stand ready to go so the stand is still available for $250. You'd have a hard time buying the materials to build it for that. It is 3/4" maple ply and maple solids.

Price for the stand is still $250. I will throw in the 4x96w power compact lighting for free if someone wants that as part of the deal.

Rosko23...YGPM. In case it gets delayed somehow like last time, yes I still have the stand but the tank is sold as noted above. Location is Elmhurst in case others are wondering.
