FS: ASM G3 w/ sedra 5000

Did some trading and ended up with an ASM G3. Overall its in real good shape. Everything works fine but because I don't know the age of the pump she's being sold as is. Looking for $125 cash. Thanks.

Why would you not want a G3 Murph? The footprint is slightly bigger and has a much better pump. It would work perfectly for your 125. If I wasnt broke, Id buy it just for the price!

Cuz I don't have enough room to pull the cup off inside my sump. I measured, I have just under 27" from the substrate in my sump to the bottom of the tank.

Gotcha. So you prolly want an external skimmer then huh? With the G3 or even a G2 you will prolly end up sucking up some sand I would think.

Looks like ASM doesn't make them anymore, they make the octopus series. I was just looking at something to do a better job than my EV-180. I don't feel I am getting as much skimmate as I sould be. What i am getting is real dark in the collection cup but not a whole lot of it. I do have a heavy bioload so you would figure that I'd get a lot of skimmate. I know that when I add supplements or put my hands in the tank it breaks down the bubble column but it seems to take forever to build back up.

They still make ASMs. There is just not a whole lot of vendors that sells them since they jacked up the price. I have an octopus recirc. Good skimmer with the mesh mod. Ill give you first dibs when I get the 150 running and upgrade my skimmer.
