FS/ Bonded pair Goldstripe Marroons

dugg

This is a small pair of bonded Goldstripe marroon clowns i recently purchased from a breeder in Oklahoma. The male is misbarred, and doesn't have any of the gold in his stipes yet. When i purchased them, the female only had her first stripe filled, but now has all of her's in. The breeder has assured me that they are both Goldstipes, but i won't guarantee that the male is though since he hasn't gotten any of his gold in his stripes yet. They are a bonded pair though, and both are very healthy and beautiful fish. The female is probably just under 2 inches, and the male about 1 1/4 inches long. I am selling them because Progress energy has just raised thier rates by 25% and i am going to shut this tank down because with a 250w MH over an enclosed 30g tank, it has to have a chiller, and i just can no longer afford to keep it running, and i already have an adult breeding pair in my 90g display. I paid $115 for the pair, but will take $75 cash FIRM for them, local pick up only. WILL NOT SHIP. Here are the best pics i could get of them. The male is camera shy when not with his mate. PM me if interested, but don't even bother if offering any less.

Hold up! I just heard that progress energy may be forced to lower their rates. They raised them because of "fuel" prices. Now that fuel has dropped, obviously their prices havn't, I think the senate started looking into it last week.

No, they raised them to pay for the nuclear plant they are building down in south Florida, and the senate roll back is a longshot at best. My electric bill already runs between $300 to $350 a month before the increase. I haven't seen an electric bill under $225 since i moved to Florida. Im not counting on the senate to do anything to change the increase. Too many $$$ coming from lobbiest to expect action on that.

Wow thats crazy dugg. Mine was only $150 with 2 tanks running T5s, one with a chiller. Our company is OUC though and I don't think they run so far up to Mt. Dora. Sorry to hear that :( Good luck finding a good home for those beautiful clowns.

I will be covering my roof with solar panels as soon as my wife finishes nursing school this june and Progress extortionist can kiss my skinny pasty white %^$. Then they can pay me for what i produce and don't use ;). They can build thier plants one thier own money.

If nobody buys them, i will put them in the 90g's sump when it gets warm and the chiller starts having to run again. They will be fine there. I'm sure someone will buy them eventually. If i still have them when i get the solar panels installed, then i will start thier tank back up. My electric bill was $275 last month without the chiller running. My house was built in 1957 and built on to twice and has never had an electric upgrade on any of the additions. When i get done they will be sending me a check every month instead of a bill. They are required to purchase any power that i transmit to thier lines lol.

Have you priced solar panels for your roof. The payback time for solar power is typically more than 20 years based on first cost over annual benefit. You will look at spending $30-50k to put enough panels on your roof to cover your power usage.
Currently solar heating of your water is a much shorter payback only about 5-7 depending on usage.
There are new peel and stick panels that will be coming out down the road but they are primarily used in commercial construction currently.

Yeah i realize the cost and return, but it's more the freedom from being held captive by companies like progress energy and the increased value in my house that i am looking at. 30 to 50k won't hurt that much once my wife is back working with her nursing license. Have you seen what a registered nurse makes these days lol? I have a huge amount of equity in my house even with the current lowered prices. I also have a 760 credit rating which allows me to get ridiculously low intrest rates. I plan to live here until i die anyway, so it really isn't an issue and if i don't stay that long, i'm sure my home with no electricity billl will be quite attractive to potential buyers. I hope Progress energy chokes on thier nuclear plant as it comes up thier throats from the under side lol. They posted one of the largest profits of any power company in the country last year and then get a 25% increase in rates to improve thier company hahahahahaha. I plan to recieve a check from them every month from now on instead of paying them. I am planning to install about 25 to 30% more panels then my home will ever need to make sure of that ;). Just doing my part ya know? ;)

I hear you. Believe me, I am all for solar power, particularly here in FL. I have been looking at it for some time. If I plan on moving in the next few years then it isn't cost effective. Shoot, I would be happy just to power my aquarium with it. Try to find someone that will do the peel and stick variety of PV. You will save money on the install and you will not have large holes drilled in your roof. These are more efficient than the old ones. Also, you can look into wind power to supplement.

Well, i stuck it em today a little bit any way. I had my A/C serviced for the summer, and had it checked for the amount of power it was drawing while they were here. My old A/C was drawing 49 amps, so instead of a service, this Thursday it will be replaced with a new heatpump that has 19 seer effeciency rating, and only draws 15 amps. I have a buddy that runs his own A/C bussiness. so the system is only costing me $3800 installed. This should cut my bill by more than the payment on the new unit by quite a bit. I would rather be paying for a new unit for a few years then paying Progress for an ineffecient A/C unit sucking power like a pig in a corn pile.

It's on like Donkey Kong now lol. Last week i installed a 19 seer heatpump, next week the solar hot water system goes in, and as soon as the bank's paper work goes through, i am installing enough solar panels with battery storage to produce 50% more power then my home will ever use. With all the state , federal, and progress energy rebates the whole deal including completely rewiring my house is going to cost me 52k. With Progress energy being required by federal law to purchase every KW that is sent back through thier power grid, so they will be making the payment on the whole deal. After everything is paid off, i will have a monthly income from Progress instead of a bill, and they are gonna pay for the whole deal hahahaha. I'll show them what thier 25% increase gets them lol. I just finished cutting down the only tree that shades my house, and have just over 2000 sqft. of roof to install panels on. The solar panels come with a lifetime Parts and labor warranty, so i'm set for life on electricty lol.

OH i am gonna ream them with a dry corn cobb. I'm gonna show them progress. I even called them and told them what they were in for lol. Send me a $400 electric bill haha. Jokes on them. Anyone that decides to follow suit, be sure you get a home energy audit done prior to any work done, or you are not eligable for the rebates. $50k sounds like a lot of money, but when the power company is paying the loan, it really doesn't cost you a dime. They make the payment every month, and then when the loan is paid you have an extra income that stays with the house forever increasing your homes value considerably. Putting a house up for sale that has a 3 to 400 dollar a month income makes buyers much more interested. Not that i intend on moving any time soon, but if i do, i'm sure this will make it sell pretty quickly at a good price.

Any offers on these clowns? If not i am trading them in for some corals Saturday. Just can't bring myself to put em in the sump.
