I've had this pair (one male, one female) of gliders only for a couple of months, but I'm looking to find a good home for them. They are healthy, and only a couple years old. The only reason I'm selling them is because we've got so many animals right now, it's starting to become a little overwhelming for our small apartment, and we're looking to downsize our zoo a little.

They come with a large ferret cage, 60"x18.5"x30". Come with plenty of pouches, food, supplements, toys, etc. They nibble a little to get a taste for who's handling them, and they are a little skittish, but nothing horrible.

Ah how I wish I could take them. I've loved them, but with 3 SW fish tanks, 4 cats, and 1 puppy in my own townhouse, I'd have way too much of a zoo.

Hope you find a good home for them!

haha I like to think of our apartment as a zoo too. A cat, hedgehog, two sugargliders, crested gecko, iguana, and the saltwater tank, all in our little 5 room apartment. Trying to thin the herd.

reading this reminds me or the first time my landlord in my old townhouse reacted after seeing my tank for the first time
he was like you have renters insurance right LOL
i did btw

I just wanted to give this bad boy a bump... It's been a month, still looking for a buyer. A week after I posted this, I realized the female was pregnant, and had the baby in her pouch, so they are a mating pair...

The only thing that I didn't realize was that the male should be quarantined away from the young one, or else his jealousy would get the best of him... which it did. Needless to say, we no longer have the baby, but chances are, they'll be gettin busy again soon.

Oh yeah, if anyone is interested in a hedgehog with cage and accessories, let me know, and I can send you some info on him too.

Man you have all the exotic animals. It's illegal for a pet store in the state of PA to sell specifically hedgehogs and sugar gliders. They just mad this law up in PA like 3 years ago.

I can't understand the reasoning behind a law like that... If it were an endangered species, then I could understand it, but it just seems unnecessary for these guys.

Yeah i think this law is also bad. I mean you can literally go out of state and buy them and bring it back. Good Luck with the sale. I know when they were legal for us to sell them they sold quick.

Like many exotic pets, they have been banned because they are not a native species and their impact in the wild is a question that is best left unasnwered. Many regions of the world have been adversly impacted by non native species that have taken foot hold due to careless pet owners. Just because YOU are not ignorant enough to toss hard to keep and/or invasive pets to the curb, does not mean that the average idiot has the same ethics.

For that matter how many DOGS do you see tied to a 3 foot rope at the far end of the property. How many stray dogs and cats? ferrets, etc? The average pet owner is an idiot.

Stupid people are rare. Ignorant people are more common. I think the smart ones, in the truest sense, are by definition rare. Let people do what they wish while educating as best as possible.

The alternative is to regulate peoples lives to the point that all are treated as stupid, even if they are not. As a result we have liberalism.

That is the opposite of freedom.

Yup but it only takes a few stupid people and a handfull of ignorant people to follow them (or is that vice-versa)... You then have a majority that is not trusted enough to be left alone, nor capable of running the show. Liberalism :)

Best we just leave it at that I suppose.

Aside from derailing the thread, I actually did some quick reading on these guys. I've never heard of them before. After 5 minutes of reading, they look like fun animals to have (as long as your dog doesn't eat one....like mine would).

I was impressed by how interactive they could become and seemingly fun to watch.

Pretty much the same impressions here. I always knew what they were, but until a year or so ago, had no idea people kept them as pets.

From what I understand they must always be kept in at least a pair and require a LOT of attention or they become distressed and depressed...
