Wanna give a bump for the skimmer. Had one of these for awhile on my system and this is a kick butt skimmer.
The pumps are work horses.
When the skimmer is brand new it has a break in period of a few days before it starts making tar like skimmate.
Not sure if after being cleaned it will have a break in period again.
Its definitely a set and forget. Once you have the incoming flow rate set to get the correct foam height in the neck, you are done..... No fiddling with ever again.
I run the 702 now with 2 pumps and only have to do maintenance maybe once a year.

I totally agree, the important thing is to make sure the flow rate feeding the skimmer is consistent. Once that is set the skimmer will perform very well. Due to the height of the skimmer it might not be a good fit for folks with shorter stands.
