I'm selling my one month old Fluval FX5 pump on craigslist but just thought I'd poke my head in the Sacramento (MARS) forum. Hi I'm Ryan and I'm located in Stockton but I am willing to meet in Sacramento to sell this filter.

. This pump was only setup for one month when I decided to go a different route with my saltwater aquarium. I got a great deal on a wet dry system and decided to take out the canister filter. This canister filter is the best and biggest moeny can buy! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this filter. Only one mod done to the plumbing for my UV sterlizer light but can be easy replaced at any pet store for a few dollars. I have the original box and filter comes with everything that I bought it with. I will also throw in the Matrix BioRock that I had to purchase of extra charge. (BioRock was not included on original purchase from store) Over a $35 purcahse just on the BioRock. This filter cost me well over $250 at a local pet store here in town. Your saving well over $100!!!! I've seen this filter go for as high as $350 online. Please feel free to email me regarding any questions you may have. My email is rionrocks@hotmail.com

Info I found on the FX5:

The Fluval FX5 is a large capacity, multi-stage external canister filter system. Fluval FX5's massive capacity and powerful integrated motor processes and recirculates 607 U.S. gallons (2,300 liters)of water every hour, enabling precise management of water conditions for aquariums as large as 400 U.S. gallons (1,500 liters).

Fluval FX5 features include:
- A self-priming instant-start system that eliminates the need for manual siphoning
- Unique click-fit AquaStop Valves that regulate water flow, rotate at 55 degree angles and allow for fast set-up and leak-proof maintenance - An innovative multi-functional aquarium rim connector to easily secure hosing in place
- A convenient clog-free strainer to prevent build-up of solids that could impede water flow
- A purge valve that allows for partial discharge of debris without needing to move the unit
- Multi-directional twin output nozzles to create specific water flows Fluval FX5 Smart Pump Technology (patent pending) ensures quiet, efficient operation.

This self-priming system provides plug-in-and-start convenience. Smart Pump Technology employs an electronic circuit board to continually monitor the pump. Impeller speed and force are constantly measured to ensure powerful output and energy efficiency. On a 24-hour cycle, the pump will pause and allow trapped air to escape, ensuring ultimate filtration efficiency at all times.
The true power behind Fluval filtration technology lies in the lift-out stack of media baskets. These allow custom media configurations. The large capacity baskets hold a total of 5.9L of media and enable precise stacking of media to suit the desired objectives of any aquarium.

Hello Ryan,

I am interested in your filter for my FW Discus tank. I almost got one when I went wet-dry. I need to talk it over with my wife.

As for the light can you tell me who the manufacturer is?

Thanks,

John

Right on! Yea just keep me posted if you would like either or...here is some info on the light

The light is made by SeaLife Custom
The exterior is a metal shell, plastic lens cracked but not noticable when on top of tank
Exhaust fan is not working but a new one can be purchased at Fish Planet in Sacramento for about $20
This PowerCompact works just fine with no over heating. I've had it on top of my tank for over three months before I bought a 30" that fits better.
Has two switches so your able to leave one set of lights on or off
4 White LED Moonlights with adaptor
4 65watt Power Compact Bulbs (2 True Actinic and 2 10,000k daylights)

Thanks Ryan.

John

Your very welcome! Thanks for meeting me half way:) The powerheads and wavemaker is going in my buddies tank all the way in Manteca.

P.S. Both filter and lights are now gone. Thanks MARS and NVR for the great boards:bum:
