FS/FT 5+" Regal Tang in Oswego

Hi all,

System is coming down tomorrow and I will have no place for the fish. I would be interested in zoa frag (or two) in a trade for the fish. If you don't have any zoas a small donation ($10 - $20) would be appreciated. He is ready for pickup now. If no one wants him, I am destroying him as I don't have time to drop him off at the LFS. It would be a shame for this to happen as it is a beautiful fish that eats and poops with the best of them!

If this guy sells anything else don't trust him.

I PM'd him for the fish, called him This AM from work and set up the pickup and we were all set. Then he went and PM'd someone else and sold it out from under me.

He even told me when the other guy called he asked him if he was me and the guy said no. He obviously didn't care because he sold him the fish anyway.

Honerable huh?

Thank you for the post.

You said IF you get the fish out of your tank you wanted mine (I should not have questioned Rod's ability to get a fish out of someone's tank ). As I mentioned, you called me at work while in the middle of a project and I assumed you were the guy that 100% said he would pick it up via private message and that I had already promised it to him before I spoke to you on the phone (I thought it was an extension of my private message conversation with him). It is my fault for not paying more attention, but you never said you wanted it for sure before the phone call at which time I had already signed off on it with someone else. And, no, I did not sell it. I traded it. So I received no monetary gain. Also you called around 9:00pm last night after you said you would be out my way by 5:30pm (hardly "all set" and no it wasn't out from underneath you as they committed 100% first!)! You also private messaged me two days before the phone call without any other conversation, so I thought you weren't interested anyway, especially since you said the tang would be removed on Wednesday per your pm on Tuesday: "If Rod can move the brown tang to my 90 gal tomorrow I will take your tang." That IF looms very large when you are trying to sell on RC as I have been stiffed by IFs many times. Look at how many times certain RCers have had stuff up for sale recently after people have backed out; even after promising to show up.

You can also ask the people that I recently dealt with while tearing down my tank: I am very honorable and not out trying to cheat someone. I could see where you would be mad if you had paid me up front and I owed you something and/or you had 100% committed to the purchase/trade (when you pmed me I had only had it up for purchase at the time ).

You can bash me as much as you would like, but I will not reply anymore. I just wanted everyone to know the entire story.

As I appreciate your response I still think what you did was wrong.

If you look at the thread you were still posting on the fish in the morning and it was not sold. I called you in the morning and confirmed buying the fish from you. I gave you my name and set up the pickup. We chatted about your skimmers and talked about where you were located in compaison to myself. You did not sound rushed for a second. If this is not 100% commiting to buying it what is?

When I talked to you last night you said to me that you PM'd the guy after we talked. He called you wanting to trade for it and you confirmed that he was a different person. (This is the point that you should have said you already set up a pickup with someone else). In our conversation last night you also told me that you were basically giving the fish away so whoever got there first got it. That is hardly you getting confused at work. You also told me the guy picked it up in the afternoon. So me getting out of work a little late is really a moot point.

You talk about other RC people standing each other up on deals they agreed to. That happens all over in life not just on RC. The only person you can control from doing that to people is yourself. I do realize you were under pressure to get this done before today so you could finish the tear down of your system. It still does not make doing it to another person right.

I read these boards and I do see people backing out on things from time to time. I keep track of that. I have avoided buying from them. I think it is important for people to know who the people are that do that to others. That is the only reason I even posted this.
