Hello! A buddy got this long-tentacle plate coral from Dan 2 weeks ago. It was a bit of an impulse buy and he quickly passed it on to me.

I can't house this thing properly. I have a 34g Solana I'm breaking down and the new tank doesn't have room. The prop tank I'm setting up is barebottom - nothing is suitable for him here.

Very good specimen, no tears/rips/infections of the flesh. These are usually considered Advanced or Expert corals, as they are prone to infections which quickly turn fatal. You should be able to provide a large, flat, and sandy substrate which receives moderate light and flow. You should never touch the fragile tentacles or allow them to be damaged in your aquarium, always handle gently by the tissue-covered bottom.

Unlike cyclos or fungia, this long-tentacle plate is very motile. He will regularly expand full of water and slowly scoot along the substrate. While I didn't measure him outside the tank (I handle him as little as possible) he is oblong shaped and about 4" across the skeleton. The tentacles regularly extend during the day at 2-3" (and occasionally at night.)

I would try not to have anything he couldnt bump into in a 6" radius at least. :headwally:

I can't stress how cool this coral is. I wish I could keep, but I know it's not the right place!

OK - so I will be available on Friday if someone would like to pick him up. You will need to bring bags / bucket / whatever to transport him (I'm a pretty new hobbyist, so I don't have extras around); It will be best to turn the lights off about 1.5 hours before you come to get him (When he is LEAST puffed,) so I'll need at least that much of a heads-up.

1.5hrs after "Sundown"
