FS - New 150g Starphire Aquarium Obsessed & Skimmer

I recently moved and haven't been in the hobby for a while so now it is time to start selling my equipment. Before I got out, I had a custom built starphire tank made by Aquarium Obessed. I had it shipped directly to me and it has remained in the crate ever since. I had it stored indoors but since I moved in February, it has been stored on the side of my house covered with a tarp. The pictures are from today (04/23/13) and I am located near Central & Coral Gables.

I paid $1824 for the tank and to have it shipped from Canada. I am asking $1000 for the tank and $150 for the skimmer. The skimmer is also brand new in the box.

I wanted to give the folks on this forum first dibs before I post it on Craigslist. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Joe

front & sides are 12mm Starphire glass
back is 12mm regular glass
bottom is 19mm regular glass
glass is all ground and polished

you don't have a stand/canopy do you?

Sorry Scott, I only have the tank. I was going to build a custom stand for it and I was planning on using a 60inch lighting fixture and hang it from the ceiling. I didn't want a canopy for this tank.

Do you have the original CAD file for the build?
How big is the external overflow, 6"? I'm trying to figure how far off the wall it will sit, 30"?
How long ago did you get it?

woodwrangler, the overfollow is 6 inch deep so including the glass, the total depth is about 30 1/2 inches. I bought the tank about 3 years ago, I worked with John Sherrer at Aquarium Obsessed when I ordered the tank. I looked through my old e-mails but I can't find the old e-mail with the original drawing. I will take measurements of the overflow when I get home later and also get some other pictures. I still have the tank in the original crate so it is hard to get good pictures of it.

Overflow is 27 5/8 x 11 1/2 inches, the actual grate is 24 x 2 inches.

I feel sorry for the buyer. I just set up my Aquarium Obsessed tank that I purchased in 2008. Within 2 months, the front glass peeled away and dumped 30g of salt water all through my house.

Something Aquarium Obsessed does with their tanks seems to make this frequent. They either use poor silicone or do not clean properly.
