FS: Reef Octopus DC 3500

m-six hundred

The Most Diabolical Hater
Looking to upgrade my pump. Bought this three months ago from Reef Monsters. Originally cost $159+tax. I am Firm on $130. These are the best pumps on the market right now. Let me know if you have any questions. No pictures, it is running in my sump at the moment.

I forgot to mention this pump is rated at 900gph

30 watts for 900 GPH is the best ratio you can get. There is absolutely zero noise and since the power supply is out of the water there almost no heat transfer. Any one On here that has one will tell you they are they best pump they have had.

I have a Speedwave DC 10000 (basically the same but larger pump) running on a 220 and I can barely hear it run. It only pulls 85 watts at full speed.

I agree with the others that have this pump. Very quiet and powerful with very low heat transfer. That is a great price for a pump you will not be disapointed with.

I also run a Diablo DC pump for my return. Actually my skimmer uses the DC3500 pump. Both are very quiet and no noticeable heat transfer to the water. These have been my favorite pump to date. JP

Are you upgrading this pump on your 87g? I'm curious what you're upgrading to. I'm setting up a similar sized Leemar tank and was looking between the DC-3500 and DC-5500. I was thinking of going with the 5500 and just dialing it back some if needed.
