FS: Shattered Red Sea Reefer 250

Long story short, bought a Reefer 250 on Cyber Monday and it was delivered like this. Got a replacement so all is good. Selling this to fund my new tank project. It would be a great DIY project for someone who has the skills to salvage this. I've inspected it and it looks like only the back panel and over flow was damaged. The remaining 4 panels are good. I've never taken it out of the box. WYSIWYG no other parts included.

I'm asking $200 obo. Need it gone by Thursday. No trades.

Pick up in Concord. Thanks.

It was actually packaged pretty darn well sitting on two pallets with tons of shrink wrap. No signs of anything falling on top of it or hitting the sides. I'm assuming the damage happened prior to them wrapping it up for shipping.

From what I've seen on RC it does seem like this happens a lot. I know 4 people with DOA Reefers.

When they replace a tank like that don't they request that you throw it away instead of sending it back? (or selling it)

They still need a lot of help on there shipping. Costumer service wise, they are great. They sent free stuff each time they sent me a broken stand. One time a bucket of sand one time an entire sps care set. It took them 3 tries to get me a stand. Truck drivers were always the worst I've seen. 3 teeth and no sleep for 5 days (lowest price shipping). There thought process is way off. They have the door right on the front of the package, with just cardboard covering it. Not to mention the face of the door.

Just know if your ordering a tank from them it might take a few months. Honestly I'd just spend a little more and just order a crystal dynamic.

After a second thought....I agree....FREE for whoever wants it.

Would appreciate a frag or anemone if you have it, but if not no worries.

You can have places like Neptune in SJ quote for a back replacement glass; doesn't have to be low Iron nor beveled, is the back glass. I bet still saves a few hundreds to whomever picks that nice semi-aquarium.
Maybe checking with Jess at Diablo Corals too.
I know Bruce had a cube tank's glass piece replaced so is achievable.
Few years back I would have picked that tank in an instant.

Many years back I replaced the bottom pane on a Leemar tank with a PVC sheet, although that only had to hold back the water with a "gasket" like silicone bead (Dow 795 btw), not sure I'd trust that on back pane though.

I got a quote to get a panel replace before and it was about $300-400
but was never able to get a hold of them again.
This would be great project for a DIY but then again if it fails it would be the end of me...lol

Good to know, people sometimes need a lead on where to or whom to contact for that matter. Myself I have some glass pieces that need to be cut, they are 1/2"
But right now I have no time to deal with the glass issue.
PM me your number to hve it handy.

Thanks
