new never seen a tank on it. it doesn't have any hinges on it, but its a nice solid stand built buy a reputable local fish store 
its pressed wood with Mahogany accents....both the stand and canopy. i need to get this out of my way.
i want to trade it for a nice tv stand for my plasma tv, but if i don't sell it, i will cut it up and make a stand for it. i'd rather sell or trade it to someone that needs a nice stand.
