FT: Giant Blue Hippo

I picked up this fish in a trade and its about twice the size its supposed to be. It was in a bucket so I really didnt realize until I put him in my tank. He is just far too big for a 120g, needs something at least twice that size. He did come out of a 180 but I would prefer him in something bigger. For scale notice the clowns in the lower left of the pic, I think if you listen closely you can here the one clown saying "Oh s*@#, Godzilla is coming!"

I actually had you in mind Norm, this fish needs a big tank. I put him my sump for now (100g rubbermaid). I also have a giant blonde naso I might have to let go.

I'm not in a position to add fish right now...but if I were...I'd grab him. Agreed, an 8' tank is probably best for that guy. :fish1:

I would honestly be more interested in a trade. If somebody had a smaller hippo, good size for a 120g, I would trade even. Or I would take other corals I want. Super cool lps or sps. No xenia, leathers or anything like that.

I would also consider a few other tangs or anthias for trade.

This is a little off topic but how long will it take a 2-3'' hippo tang to reach a size that will outgrow a 90 gallon? Is it years or months? He is growing really fast and I will be downsizing from a 150 to a 90 gallon to refurbish/repair the tank. I was just curious how long I will have before that hippo will outgrow the tank.
