looks like new sand syndrome. Did you use dry sand? I would try to seed it from a trustworthy tank.

Nice.looks like its growing acros and a few sensitive ones at that so I would say the tank is doing great for being so young.Love the clean aqua scape, nice and uncluttered.

Suki, I'd be inclined to agree but this appeared less than 3 days after the drywall incident lol. The sand was mostly caribsea "sort of live" sand with a bit of real stuff mixed in. with bi monthly 30 gal water changes on a 100 gal system plus 1/2 cup carbon & 1/4 cup GFO changed every 3 weeks it'll be gone soon enough :-). At the end of the day if the corals are thriving I can deal with a brown patch here & there.

[/IMG] sand bed is pretty much back to normal as well

Those are some great looking colonies. Next step should be replacing those powerheads with something smaller, and preferably on a wavemaker. Great color in the coral though, i'm impressed.

Ryan- yeah, the only advantage of the koralias is they're cheap and fast/easy to acquire. I'm going to slowly switch over to Tunze before the year's out. I really wanted vortechs but i have a feeling they'd blow water clear out of the tank.

R@ck - yes it's a lumenarc III, it's suspended from the ceiling with grow yo yo's so i can lift it up and out of the way when i have my hands in the tank. The bulb is a 250w ushio 14k SE

Get the MP10.. it will be great for that tank. It won't blow the water out of the tank, unless you want it to.
