Wow. Awesome tanks Roger. Wait... you expect people to share their pictures after seeing your tanks? LOL

Ok then, but they won't like it... :-)

Thx. I call it a frag tank but really it dosnt have frags from my display in it. It's just storage for the stuff I like that I can fit in the display :) one day maybe I will have a large enough tank to keep it all in the display :)

Roger,

Do you have it all connected together into the same sump/filtration or do you have them separated?

The reason I ask is because I have a 29gl BioCube that I was thinking of making into a frag tank, pretty much for the same reason you have yours and to make some frags for friends and family.

The issue is that I can't decide how to go about it? I don't want to get a whole new sump/filter and skimmer to clean and maintain, but I don't know which way is the best to hook everything together.

I think my sump and skimmer can handle the load of both tanks, but I'm not 100% sure.

I wanted to get some feedback from you as to how your setup works today.

Here is Mine....And yes I will be going shopping real soon at Rogers....

Please don't mind the hideous rock on the sand bed.. acclimating those corals uber slow. Will probably have more rocks lifting the others as well. Tanks ugly moment.

I would like to carpool over to roger, MJNT. ;)

Well yes mine is all linked. 1 sump, return pump running through custom manifold. If u can put the 29gal next to main tank? Just drill out 29 gal run the plumbing to the sump for drain. Then u either need a manifold so u can use 1 pump for a return to both tanks or add a second pump in the sump that will run to the 29 gal.

Before hand see how much room u have in the sump with the power off currently. Make sure the sump can handle the added water volume if the power goes out. If so then it's that easy. It will help make the tanks more stable with the added water volume.

Love the rock work on the left side :)

I wanna play.

I like the rock work on yours too. Lots of places for corals

Roger

Thank you Roger. I'll try to find someone that can drill the tank. I don't want to risk doing that part and I'll also need a larger pump to handle both tanks.

Thanks for the info.

Only 5 months old so still a ways to go. Getting ready to ready to switch over to 300 gallon so tank is kind of "jumbled up" :)

Roger,
The Red Cap was from BigZman and has about doubled in size. The Birdsnest got from Travis and has grown about 1/3 in size. Can't remember where I got the bright green cap, but that has at least doubled in 4 months. Most all doing well. Calcium uptake is really taking off so growth is good. Almost hate to disturb with switch over to 300, but the gain outweighs the "pain the the butt" factor. Counting back it is more like 6 months not 5. First time using LEDs in the 25 years plus doing this so that has been an experiment. Supplementing Photon 48 with 2 T5s and things actually going ok if you ask me. Hope to have new tank running over Christmas break. I have an additional 200 lbs of Live Rock running right now so that should give me a pretty good start with the 100 I have now in the 120 gallon.

Janes_mw your scape is amazing, very interactive. All of your corals look great in such a small span.

Thank you Tilo!
I am really happy with the tank and especially the Clarkiis and frequent spawning. Right now, everybody is happy and things are on the upswing. All the livestock gets along well and most of my "issues" have been with coral or anenomes stinging tank mates.
