I may get beat up and potentially kicked out of the club, but I am happy with my Jebao wave makers. I control them with the Apex and can send the savings on live stock. When I first put water in the tank, I had only one of the smallest sizes they offer (pp8) in my 220 and it was making waves. I now have 2 pp20 and 2 pp8. I am down grading to the pp15 because the pp20 are too strong. I can't run them past 60% are I start blowing sand and coral around. To me it was worth the savings, cause I can buy several replacements if it does go bad.

I love this kind of info. I'm glad to see someone is happy with a cheaper alternative to vortechs. It's amazing how much something like a "water fan" costs in comparison to other equipment. It's still crazy that $140 for 2 pp15's is considered cheap, but I guess that's the hobby. As someone who still has a bit of an outsider view it's strange how 2 vortech pumps can cost more than the actual tank.

I found that I can get my powerheads and an apex for the same money as 2 vortechs. I try to save money where I can but there are some things you cant cheap out on. I feel like powerheads are good items to save and if you hit the lottery you can change powerheads and it's not as a big of a deal as, let's say, changing light fixtures. I have read many reviews that love the Jebao pumps and wave makers and I have read plenty that don't. I took a calculated chance and I am very happy with the performance. I do have a titanium grounding rod that I will put in the sump this weekend, because one of the concerns I read was the over seas companies have poor quality control. I have friends that have been using Jebaos for a few years without an issue.

Currently I'm running a MP40 and its equivalent JB. The MP40 is running on 6(power)Light blue and the JB is running on 6(power)else with waves meeting in the middle at about 1ish per second.
I really love the MP40 for what is does. Its simple, it plays great with my reeflinked M1-pump and 2x G3's. It however lacks the ability to angle its wave. It is moving the majority of my DT water throughout the day. The JB is angled just off center, so when its "else" setting ramps up greater than the frequency of the MP40's wave out-put it pushes chaotic currents throughout my rock structures corners.

I have a MP10 I could replace the JB with, but the JB currently meets my need. I major CON for the JB is build quality. I have owned multiple, this one is currently working 100%, its predecessor's did not last more than a year.

The new jebaos are definitely better than the gen 1s . Im looking for ore flow in my tank and I cant decide if I want two of the gyre 250s or two of the Icecap 3ks. The icecaps would save me a couple hundred bucks but Ive bent burned in the past going cheap.

See not getting beat up. I actually have the first gen korralia with the wide flow and rattles when I start it up mine doesn't go in reverse but I deff got my 45$ out of it. The new one I got is not a gen 3 but moves water. But I really would like waves and to be able to use my phone to control it
