I was previously planning a remote deep sand bed, but the reality of it is, that's going to be a pain to stuff in the cabinet. I'd have to build a little stand for it, drill the bucket, etc.
I have a pretty big fuge, it takes up 24" x 10" x 16" of space. I'm going to be putting a ball of chaeto into it, raised above the bottom so it doesn't collect detritus, and I'm going to fire a seio 620 right at the ball to keep it suspended and tumbling.
I'm thinking of just throwing in a 4" sand bed in there to help the natural nitrate reduction. Then I'm thinking of using two tunze 6025's to tumble the chaeto, and to keep anything from settling on the sand.
Will this work at keeping the sand clean and help with NNR? Will the sand get too dirty eventually?
