Fuge light question....

so i have my cheato finally.... when should my fuge light be on? 24 hrs? when my main lighting is off? how many hours?

When I had a refuge I ran the lights 12 hours reverse. It will help keep the ph stable at night. You can also run it 24 hours, but I think 12 reverse is fine.

I did the 12 hour reverse thing but I get better Chaeto growth with 24 hour lighting................

I have heard that Chaeto and other macro algae need some dark time... but it's just what I've heard

I'm in the process of building one and I plan on doing reverse timing.

Chaeto doesn't.....There are some that benifit from a dark period.
