Fuge Question.

Persona Non Grata
I have been running a sump with semi-fuge for a few months now. I have Cheato and a few rocks with lights on 24 hours over the sump. Hence semi-fuge. It is a 10 gallon tank with a bit of Light difuser as a divider between the intake and return line.

My problem is that I picked up a nice skimmer (Life Reef VS2-24, Thanks again Dusty) that won't really fit in a 10 gallon along with space for a fuge. I do have a 20 gallon tank that I might try using.

Question: In the event that will not fit under my tank, should I go for the better skimmer or the fuge?

This is the set up I used when I had to fit everything under my tank. It is a 72gl bowfront, so I had a little bit of room in the stand. I used a 10gl for my fuge, and a 15gl for my sump. I stacked them up and put the skimmer in the 15gl.

Also, the light for my fuge is mounted behind the fuge, not on top of it. The lights on the fuge ran exactly opposite of the main lighting cycle.

Nice job. 2 Questions: How did you get the 10 gallon to stack up? Also, what did you use to run water to the sump from the fuge? (90 degree out the side etc...)

You can kind of see it in the picture. I set the 10gal on top of the 15gal and since the are almost the same width, I just overlapped them)the back and side of the 15gl supported the 10gl. You don't have to worry about the weight with only 10 gals. There was a hole drilled on one side of the 10 gl for watter to be plumbed to the tank below. My overflow from the main ran directly into the fuge first.
