can you remove all your cheato and replace it with new? I have a feeling that mine is not doing well and should replace it. It is just falling apart when I shift it around and it is not growng as fast as before I pruned it back a month ago.

can I remove it all and put new in?

yes you could remove it all and put new cheto in....but you're going to lose a lot of critters and nutrients. Before you do that what type of lighting do u have on it? could we possibly get a pic of your fuge? thanks!

I had the exact same problem. I found that if I put a powerhead in the fuge to move the cheato around and add some current, the cheato improved tons. It is now bright green and doing great. Cheato needs to tumble.

this is a 70 gallon stock tank with a 5inch sand bed and 30pounds of Live rock

well it doesn't look too terrible to me. I like the fuge in general good idea. I agree w/ drop u could try and put a very small powerhead u have laying around in there to see if that helps if it doesn't try a screw in compact flourecent bulb (the tubing is also twisted it's a newer bulb...hard to explain what it looks like) i've found that they work very nice. I think lights of America is one of the better brands for it. but if u get a 6inch haning metal reflectors and one of those lights... about 15 dollars max for everything at home depot or n/e store like that...it may help w/ the cheto. hope that helps a little let us know what happens

yes it is a new twst bulb from Lowes, there is a small power head on the rt side in the first pic.
can I buy new and just put it off to the side for now just incase this cheato takes a crap?

Yeah sure...u can always add it to the fuge w/ this if you would like. It may help this cheto grow i'm not really sure. Could have to do w/ nutrients in tank not supporting it? but i'm not too sure.
