anyone who owns one of these fine cameras, can you tell me how to get good pic of my tank( keep in mind that my tanks back is blue) i just cant seem to figure mine out

any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you be more specific? My wife uses a Fuji FinePix S2 Pro....something tells me that's not the particular model of camera you are asking about.

Have you altered the different shooting modes to see what you get from each?

Tagging along, I have the same camera, and while I have managed a few decent shots, I have not been able to nail down any spectacular shots consistantly. Very close up Macros have been great if the subject is within inches of the glass, but beyond that I have had no luck.

the background on my tank is blue and i can't seem to to get all the colors of the corals to show their true colors-- i'm not sure how to get the correct apeture or colors to show right

Okay, you're confusing me a little. The aperature is too be determined by you (unless your shooting in Auto or Shutter priority) and color has nothing to do with it. You are aware of this? It is based soley on DOF (depth of field) and the shutter speed you are trying to use. I think on my Moms camera I used Aperature priority or maybe even Manual and used F4 or something like that. I also used the exposure compensation and undersxposed by abotu a 1/2 or even a full stop to keep color saturation.

As for getting the correct colrs, it can be tricky sometimes. You will most likey have to get it done in a program like PS or lightroom since this camera does not have RAW. I had to do a fair amount of color correction and even then couldn't always get it to the quality I would have liked it.
