Fully encrusted BB SPS tanks

anyone with tank with sand thinking of going bb probably have problem with the sand (e.g. dirty, hard to clean, sand blowing around, etc). otherwise if there is no problem with the sand, then just keep it as is. as someone mentioned, the whole point of going bare bottom is the ease to keep the bottom clean, higher flow, etc. There is no point arguing having sand looks better, as bb will look better than any tank with dirty unlcean sand.

thanks for posting pics of your tank. Thats kind of what I am envisioning.

I have removed 95% of my sand bed, only the corner where the jawfish lives and the other corner with a shrimp and goby still have sand.

Its really nice because I was able to move the vortechs all the way down and really keep the stuff off the bottom.

I'm currently running BB and love how easy it is to clean. Also the flow can be cranked up. But I like the look of sand and will be going back to a very thin layer of sand in my new build
