OK so I just want to know if I am fully/over stocked and if I have the ability to add any other livestock. I have included some pics below. High level I have a coral beauty, saddle back clown, and a wrasse (dont know what time). Snails and fighting conch, and some coral (zoa, torch, gsp, brain, duncan etc). What does everything think?

nope.. lowish load IMO..

Good luck with that acro and I feel bad for you when that GSP overtakes the whole mountain.. :p

Lol yeah im thinkimg about moving it. Thats a huge 15 lb rock covered in coraline. Thats a millepora, my wife left the ac off the other day (i live in savannah ga) and the tank was at 84 when i got home. I think that killed it because before it looked amazing. I didnt realize i was that low. What do you recommend? The coral beauty probably needs a larger tank he was in my 80 for a little bit before I took it down.

I would stop with what you got. As those fish get bigger & bigger that tank is going to get smaller and smaller. You might be able to add one or two small bottom dwellers, but that's about it IMO.
Think LONG term. ;)

The stocking of the tank depends a lot on the personalities of the fish and what kind of filtration you have in place.

1) Good skimmer
2) Lots of rock/Bi Media
3) On top of water changes
4) GFO/Carbon?

The angel and clown can be pesky to other fish but I would not consider the tank overstocked.

Also depends on your goals -- if you want to keep a bunch of softies then your tank doesn't need to be as clean as it would if you want to keep fancy acros.

I have a hydor slim skimmer in the rear section. I prefer leathers and such. Rock is about 35-45 lbs. Long term is it better to get the clown a mate?

Nowhere near overstocked IMO. I've got 8 fish in my 40b and might add a bottom dweller since I don't have one.

My fish are:

Cherub Angel
McCosker's wrasse
Midas Blenny
Pair of Mocha Ocellaris clowns
Yellow candy hog fish
Matted File fish
Royal Gramma

I also have several corals lps, sps and softies and 3 BTA's one is a beautiful 6" plus GBTA.

As long as you've got the system setup to export nitrates you can add fish until nitrates become a problem passed skimming and weekly or every two week wc's.

I appreciate everyone's responses. I usually do a wc every 3 weeks and the skimmer helps in the mean time. Thats positive to hear you have a 40 with lots of nano fish. I am interested in your candy hog where did you find one? Looks like I will pay a little visit to the lfs this weekend....

I got it from Live Aquaria. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+35+1157&pcatid=1157

They don't have any in stock right now but they will. Also watch LA's Divers Den, they pop up there from time to time. If you want one sign up for the email notification. Just be ready to order it when you get the email. They go pretty quick.

They can be a bit aggressive but not to the point of killing other fish from my experience with this one.

ALSO to add: don't put too many new fish in at one time. It will overpower your bacteria if you put too many in at once and get ammonia spikes. One fish at a time is best. Then wait a couple of weeks and add another.

Just out of curiosity, how long has the tank been set up?

Yeah I was only thinking one at a time. If the store has another saddle I may pick it up. If not i will go for a goby or something small. Thats cool i did not know it was bigger than 40...thank you for that!

You need to sign up for DD notifications and you'll get the email daily to see what they have. Then be ready to buy it at 5pm central time when it's posted. You need to be quick to get these guy's. There was one a few weeks ago nobody bought for several days, then it was gone.
