I did the full tent fumigation a few weeks ago... I did lots of research and people said to cover the tank with plastic from HD... not many people posted about the aftermath... So here it goes:
1.) I brought thick plastic from home depot and duct taped it over my tank. I removed all fish 1 week prior to the fumigation but kept all corals and inverts in the tank including a haddoni
2.) I had a whisper air pump that pumped air from the outside into the tank
3.) The only equipment that was on was my lights, two ecotech pumps for circulation, and a heater. Sump and returns were turned off. I did not cover the sump
4.) During the night, the airpump got disconnected from the tube for about 12 hours.. I fixed it when I found it was disconnected
I was very concerned the water would get too cold but when I returned, the water actually was pretty warm. I think the plastic insulated the tank ... my guess, the temp went up to around 80-82. All corals and inverts were fine. The haddoni actually seemed better than usual.
Here's a pic of the tank with the plastic:
Here's a pic of the haddoni when I got back, and released the fish the same night too:
Unfortunately, approximately one week later, the Haddoni ate the two clowns.. I found this very strange because the clowns slept in the haddoni for over 2 years. Maybe after being gone from the haddoni for a week, they lost their relationship slime and the haddoni took advantage? Here's a pic of the two clowns wrapped in goo after the haddoni spit them out of its mouth.
