They have never heard of Darwin in Northern Australia. And these people bought live aquaria? Lol

Fun "Fact" From Petco

Folks that work at Petco are pretty decent people for the most part. I just don't understand how hard it is to spend 15-30 mins a day trying to learn something new to serve people better. All it takes is a computer or a mobile device with internet connection. Easiest way to make ones service better.

The people at Petco and all those box stores are not bad PEOPLE. They may be a little undereducated but they try. But sometimes the lack of knowledge is funny..

I had someone tell me that my ball pythons that were different colors had birth defects :deadhorse:

The fish at this Petco must be fresh releases if it's anything like the one here. My local Petco fish are covered in ick within a couple days.

Strangely enough the petco near me does a great job with their tanks. Then the one a bit further away does a terrible job. It just depends who ends up working at the store.

I have about 20 Petcos within ~40 miles of my home...the ONLY good one is the farthest away!

For the most part Petco employees know their stuff when it comes to dogs, cats, birds, and even freshwater fish. However, their saltwater knowledge seems to lack so much it makes an otherwise OK pet store chain look bad.

Thanks! This was just a mistake from an individual at this particular store, but it has been resolved, and ReefCentral helped to do it! I think it's important for many hobbyists to know the origin of their fish and to be able to trace them back to their collection locations and/or know their breeding history. It's a hobby of mine as well :-)

Just for fun, here's an old thread with a picture of a tidepooler that found some in the ocean: Darwin Clownfish in Darwin

You are welcome!
Just saw your profile. You work at SA? I had a chance to speak with Chris Turnier on the phone and email a while ago. Great service!
