Ahhh, I see where you're coming from on the school versus shoal, makes a lot of sense, my bad!

The 5 was from speaking with a couple of zoo/public aquarists awhile back. We were talking after a meeting and the recommendation was 5 based upon talking with someone from the National Aquarium in DC, his wife who was at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and Mitch Carl from the Omaha Zoo (I think it's Omaha). Just some questions in passing and that seemed to be the consensus number that they had heard as well.

Interesting. I would like to know the logic behind that. It seems to me that there would a million other variables that would effect behavior first, including fish size, tank size, health, diet, aquascape, other tankmates, amonsgst others. But thats just my opinion.
