Fungia Placement

So I got a new red fungia. have had it on the sand for about 3 weeks doing great. eating at all. I have a spot open on my base rock about a inch high from the sand bed. Would it be okay to put the fungia onto the rock?? It is still now but just wondering if fungia need sand?

Sand bed only.

Fungias will "walk" and will at some point fall off the rockwork. Once the tissue is damaged, it's tough for them to recover. In addition, Fungias expand and contract themselves quite a bit, and the constant rubbing on the rockwork will eventually damage the tissue.

besides having it on the sandbed, do have have a strong siting and should it be kept away from other corals?

They will sting but don't have a very long reach (no sweepers like some coral) so they don't have to have as much distance as some other corals
