Fuses on 6105

O.k so I just set up my 2 new 6105's. I just noticed that each one came with a different set of fuses. One came with a 12v and a 24v. The other came with a 15v and an 18v. So I am trying to understand this. Also one of the pumps seems to click when starting up from 30% going up to 100%.

There was a revision on the pump giving it a larger propeller and lower voltage jumpers. This slowed the pump speed while making it quieter out of the box and still moving the same amount of water. Also 18 and 12 should have come with one and 24 and 15 with the other. The one with the smaller voltage jumpers should have a 45mm impeller and the larger jumpers should have the 42mm propeller. If it doesnt settle down Roger will take care of you I am sure, he will be back online on Monday typically.

Yes I tried taking the impeller out and re installing it. Still the same. I took all the fuses and tried them one at a time. It still vibrates and hums quite loud with every one of them. So if I understand right it sounds like I recieved two different models. So the new and improved one has a larger impeller and lower watt draw(18v) vs. (24v)
I'll tell you one thing though, these things move some water that is for sure!
I am happy with my purchase, I just hope that roger can help me fix this issue.

I am sure Roger will be able to rectify it, I just dont know the answer. It is likely either a disk mispostioned or missing behind the impeller I just have not been able to play with enough to be able to answer it for sure properly.

They really arent two different models, just one is a new revision with a small change that was made to address some issues with noise(humming) of the pumps when new.

You do want to make sure you are using the right fuses with the right pump(propeller) though. Using the 24v jumper with the larger propeller could do damage to the pump long term.

Thanks for your help shawn. I will look forward to hearing from roger. I have done some reading on this forum and it looks like tunze has the best customer service no questions about it. I am not worried one bit! =)

After further testing I found out that the 15v fuse will not work at all. The pumps won't even turn on. It also seems the the power supplies get real hot. I have my 7095 controller on interval 2 turned down to 40% so they don't vibrate. Any higher speed and they are loud enough to hear over the t.v. I am running the 24v, and 18v fuses.

The power supplies should get fairly warm, but not too hot to hold. Do both pumps hum or just the one with 24V jumper? Please check the propellers, the older 24V version had a 42mm prop and in the center of the prop will be a stamp of 42, the new 18V is stamped 45 for 45mm. Make sure the rubber bumpons are installed on the magnet holder as well, this will help reduce the vibration transmission.

Just found this thread, I have a used 6105 bought from a reefer and it is loud. Sounds like a cell phone on vibrate. I just checked the jumper and prop and have the old 42mm. 24v combo, how can I get the the 45mm 18v parts?

You would have to talk to roger, that is the correct combination for the older model though.

Just to let everyone know, Tunze customer service is just plain amazing! These people care about the customer and will do everything to make them happy. I am still working on one issue with roger but I'm confident he will take care of it soon. So anyone looking for a reason to buy Tunze, this is one. It's hard to get people to stand behind their product 100% these days. Thanks,
Matt
