Future 180 build

So the fiance and I got a 180 gallon for super cheap, the only catch is that we have to rebuild it. Not that big a deal, we welcome the challenge. Our plan is to first remove all of the silicone, have the glass polished (original owner used it as a terrarium), silicone the pieces together, and then finish it with a euro brace. The tank is 72" X 24" X 24.5" with 1/2" glass. The complete build out won't take place for a little while; we are planning to move into a new house within a couple of years. For now we are just going to tear it apart and get it ready to be our dream tank. Now here is the questions I have for all of you big reefers:

What are the tricks to keep this filterless? Would like to get away with not having a lot of equipment if I can get away with it.

Closed loop system, I have seen this to be common in the large builds and would like to know any tips/tricks learned along the way. Any do's and don't's? Any good "how to's" that I could follow?

Water flow, any suggestions on pumps or wave makers?

Is there anything trickier about having a larger tank?

Thanks in advance.
