Can I use alkilinity to increase the PH of the ro water to match that of the tank water?

Use the baking soda. preferably baked baking soda has a better effect on raising PH. What are you FW dipping for? All its good for is flukes. Don't waste your time if your doing it for ich. When ich is attached to the fish the FW is really not doing anything to it. THats why copper will only kill ich in the free floating stage.

Cupramine Is the safest copper. Just add it real slow. Break the dose up 4 times.
