FW dipped zoos now they are shut.

Hi, I just started the practice of FW dipping my new zoo additions. I dipped for 4min with RO/DI water that was brought to tank temp (77-78). Half of them opened within a short time and the other half stayed closed. Now all of them are shut. It has been almost a week since I placed them in my tank. Do you think they are ok? Any suggestions on how to get them to open anytime soon? I have other zoos that are doing fine as well as lps,sps and some other softies.

I always use straight RO/DI water to dip my zoos without bothering with PH, they have always opened the same day or the following day. Maybe it's just luck of the draw?
I would put those in a low light area though nonetheless where crabs and the like won't walk on them 24/7.

I have had this problem before too. I have thought I just left it in to long. It took a month or so before they opened up completly. Also for the first while they looked like they got burnt. But dont worry zoas are hardy they will open soon.

Thanks for the info guys. I re-adjusted some flow in my tank and one of the larger polyps opened. Its not all but hey its a start. I will try to move them to low light and an area where the hermits won't walk on them.

I usually adjust the PH and bring the temp up when doing FW dips, it only takes a minute and it sure can't hurt.
I also keep the lights off the next day and things usually do pretty good.

for future reference... i dipped my zoos in tap water not matching the temp and pH.... they were fine the day i put them back in my tank... dipped for abotu 5 min
