I agree with Scuba TC. Maybe one thing we could do in the club is have have good name tags instead of just the hand written ones. What do you guys think about that? Just a thought, no biggie.

I also have not asked for a discount. I have a good relationship with several stores that we value each others business. Looking back at my experience in this hobby, there are always going to be competetion in stores as any other business, you just have to go where you have a good relationship and advice. I think all of our local fish stores do a good job with supply and demand as it relates to prices and discounts and I hope it continues to keep our area flourishing.
its not supposed to be stressful, lol? I never asked for the club discount anywhere because I always got the vibe that no one wanted to honor it when it was active.

This is crazy........... Everyone is having a ****ing contest. I agree that I did not join the club to get a discount from the LFS. If you are a good customer from any of the LFS they will give a discount if you ask, if they can. If I am correct, there is no charge to become a member of the club, so the budget for extras like name tags is very small. If name tag is what people want we all should get together and order a set. I have enjoyed meeting new people at the meeting and want to continue to go, but I have noticed a lot of bickering back and forth lately. We all are in this hobby to have fun(at least I am), and I do not want to have to watch what I say so I do not tick someone off or offend someone. Again this is not directed at anyone, this is just one mans thoughts.

I agree 100% with what you have said. I would be happy to put in $5 or so for a nice name tag would not bother me a bit. Per person of course so I would double whatever the cost to get my wife one as well.
I am really saddened by the way a lot of things have taken place lately and not just involving me. Seeing Mpdharley step down has really bothered me as he was one of the first people with the club that I met along with SSweet1 and because they are both such great people I and my wife joined. There are many other good people as well and I hope that Mike reconsiders.
I hope everyone had a better day today than last night was. I won't be around as much during the day now because I have taken a part time job after getting the green light from my doctors.
I'm working at one of the LFS's. I can't say which one because I don't want it to look like advertising on here. I don't want to get "Moved On" because I like this site. A Lot of great info and I research a lot on here. So let's all be happy, Have a virtual cold one together and forget the past.

Ok, I'm confused (as usual
). I know I am new to the club and have only been to two meetings, but isn't mpdharley the pres. of the club? I assumed so since he does all the talking and announcements at the meetings that I've been to. That would be funny if I have him mixed up with someone else! I checked the NFMAS site and it does not indicate who is in what capacity.Update: Nevermind, I just saw the new post!
