G-3 question

I have been ask to fix a ASM G-3 skimmer that is 4 or 5 yrs old. The impeller is screwed up. Should I buy a new sedra 5000 pump, or just the impeller? If pump, the one you sell looks different. If impeller, is it easy to install and do I need anything else?

Hi Larry,

I belive they were still using the same pump back then. SO I would recommend trying a new impeller first to save a little money. It's about 80% odds the pump is fine and just needs a new impeller.

If it didn't work, you would have an extra impeller and need to get the pump anyways, but having an extra impeller on hand is not a bad idea anyways.

You basically just open up the pump, pull the impeller out and drop a new one in, pretty easy swap out.

I would recommend cleaning the pump real well before you install it.
