I just got a G. Smithii today and it is a maroon color which from my understanding means is was collected in deeper water-
will it change to green when it molts since it is now it will be exposed to more light in it's new home (an 8 gallon Biocube)?
I am not sure when it was last offered food- when should I offer some shrimp?
I am really excited that it arrived looking great and doing well- even though the Fed Ex delivery guy is an idiot and did not ring the doorbell- he just left the box on the front porch. And it was clearly too difficult to understand the "this side up" clearly marked all over the box- as he left it laying on its side.
Seriously- that is so dumb- it would have taken 2 seconds extra to ring the doorbell and to place the box "right side up". My husband rescheduled a chiropractor appt and delayed running errands to make sure he would be home when the box was delivered.
But we have had FedEx deliveries in the past- so he knew to occassionaly check the front porch. The FedEx guy was so quiet our dogs did not even bark.
I can't wait to find out if it is male or female- but I didn't want to do anything to cause any additional stress.
thanks-
Julie
