Not mine! Aquarium Concepts in Dublin, CA has one for sale, about an 1" long. They also have 2 4-5" O.s. and 1-2" i think G. Chiragra(sp).

Well im assuming Pschodave was there and told them the smithi was sought after, as he was tagged "very rare" and $55. Cant remember the rice of the O.S.

-5 points for pschodave

hey hey hey!!! :D

I didnt lable him, I just ID'd it!!! It was from a co-workers tank. I can probably get the price down if someone wants to come in and get him...just make sure im working that day. Still have the two O. S as well and the small G. Chiragra. Found a small G. platysoma today as well! O. S are 49.99 if you want to come in and pick one up, shipping is really expensive...they are the last two of the 6 I got in a while ago. Cant remember the price on the Chiragra but I can get rid of him for less than $20 im sure...

Crawling68, when did you stop by my shop?

I come by on the weekends all the time, i had no idea you worked there. Working on setting up a 14g Biocube, the wifes Smithii has gotten huge. You will be happy to know the G. Viridis i got from you is alive and happy.

Too bad platysomas aren't more active, they are amazing looking.

I would have come down to see your collection but I found an L. maculata and that filled my last space avail. for mantises. I haven't been there in probably two years - the shop has moved now I assume?

btw, is the platy for sale? or for yourself?

here was mine a ways back,

My Smithii is eather molting or old age has finally gotten the best of him...if I dont see him in another week im gunna move some of the rocks... Whats the life span of a Smithii, 4 years?

Platy is for sale, dont have a price...probably 10-20 though

My wife has had her Smithii for about 2 1/2 years, and it has more then tripled in size. She has an interesting feeding regimen though. She buys about 10 snails for her to feed on whenever she wants, as soon as the tank walls start to get dirty, she knows Shell-E has eaten them all and buys 10 more. Yes, that is the Smithii's name- Shell-E Greenbean Everdream, like its AKC registered or something.

geezzz i had no idea dublin was such a happening spot...

im temped to put a smallish mantis in my reef... my watchman goby (that hates me) is the only fish i would worry about... maybe the stars might be in danger.. but im less concerned about them..

its a shame shipping would be a pain.. im about 2.5 hours away or i would drive up for the platty..

Hey man, thanks for the peacock - but its got one smasher!! :( I didn't even think to look, just assumed she was totally healthy. Not much of biggie, i know it'll most likely come back good as new - just kind of a bummer.

However, its not slowing her down any - she is trying her best to break my 29g right now... i can hear her from around the corner, up the stairs and through the closed door :D smack, smack!!

My friend always uses dumb cutesy names and calls my Mantis "Sandy Claws the fish" in her best attempt to annoy me.

Dude, my bad, sorry. I didnt even think to tell you. Shes a champ though! I fed her crabs and dead fish every day. She did molt once in the cube. The arm fell off a day or two after they origionally came in. Im sorry man, i wasnt tryin to pull anything...it just slipped my mind.

Hows the platty doing?

Oh, the Smithii is reserved by a guy at work...it came from his tank and he thought it was a baby peacock. I told him what it was and he ended up wanting it back...

A champ is right. I have kept many mantises, including a couple peacocks - this is by far the loudest hit of any of them - and she only has one arm.! lol

dont know about the platysoma, my friend kept that one - hasnt filled me in so I assume all is good.
