G4 Radion recommendation for 84x42x26" tank

Currently have a combination of halides and older Hydra over my 375w. My 84"L x 42"W x 26"H tank is setup as a peninsula so I need good lighting spread to avoid too much shading.

I was thinking of using 6 Radion XR15R G4 not centered on tank but in two rows about 25" apart, obviously there would be about a 24" separation between the three lights in each row. I could possibly add two more at some point if I dont get the PAR I need. I plan to mount about 20-22" AWL. I plan to use the SPS AP+ program. For those with these lights will this be enough?

Seems like you are really skimping on light. I would say that 8 lights would be a minimum if you want decent light output. I assume this is going to be a LPS/Softie tank? to get the spread you desire with those lights you are going to need to run them close to 24" of the water. Also I would consider having them 18 - 20" separation between the two rows as there is no reason to powerfully light the front glass which will reduce area you need to light. Having two rows does allow for the addition of more lights in the future but if it was me, I would be prepared to add more lights (to have 8-10 lights in total) in the future.

Thanks for your info. How may Radion’s do you have over your tank? Agree on more lights, I may end up keeping the 8 Hydra 26s that I currently have and add additional lights. THanks

I have on on my 25g (22" x 20" x 18") and there will be 6 on my 250g (62" x 36" x 27"). But my 250g will be primarily SPS. Also all seven of my lights are XR30 pros, not XR15 pros.
