Garlic Xtreme killing Macro-Algae?

I was using 3 drops of Kent Garlic Xtreme last night to soak some food for my fishes. This morning the water in my tanks was cloudy & the Caulerpa was dead.
Was it coincidence that the alage went asexual or did the Garlic kill the algae?

Total water volume: approx. 300 gal
Water parameter this moring:

Temp: 76F
specific gravity: 1.026
NH4 <= 0.25
No3 = 0
No2 = 0
Po4 = 0
used Brand: Salifert

Hi,
I have used this, but only put 2 drops in some tank water and then added it to my tank, My caulerpa is fine , maybe you should of added it to water first.

... i don't know, should not make a difference ... maybe just coincidence .... in the afternoon the tank was crystal-clear again. However, I did a waterchange in the evening
