GBTA got burned by the heater

My GBTA that had anchored for last 3 weeks, had suddenly develope an urge to move, it moved by the water heater and got burned. Parts of it looks pretty bad now, but others are still normal. I hope it can heal itself and survive. :(

BTA are fairly resiliant to physical damage. If he wasn't already on the move (suggesting something wrong) I'd say he has a good chance of making it. Since it seems he wasn't getting something he wanted where he was I'm a little less optimistic.

So it looks like the wounds have healed, but now he is retracted deep into the rock works. Will it come out on its own since there is barely any light that can reach him. And also where it is at, there is no way that I can feed it...

Suggestions?

give him a few days. Then I'd try to feed him something, even if all you can do is send some frozen brine his way with a turkey baster. You can also feed live brine of course which will get just about everywhere. My BTAs like live brine days almost as much as my fish....

ok, thanks for the advice, just tried to feed him some small piece of silverside to what is showing, he is not taking food yet. I will try again in couple of days... Otherwise it is looking healthy still...

Can you see it still? I use a long plastic tong to feed mine when it gets into those hard to reach places.

Glad to hear it's doing much better!!!

yeah, I can still see it... Will definitely have to keep an eye on it... Thanks again for all the suggestions. I will post an update.
