GBTA help

Well, I came home and my GBTA is in the front of the tank. The foot is attached to the glass and the whole foot is attached. But I can't hardly tell what the front looks like but there is white strands coming off the base or where the tentacles should be like it would be decaying almost. When do I know when to pry it off the glass and take it out? I want to throw it away if it's dead so it doesn't pollute the tank. Wait until the foot is not attached anymore? This is assuming that it is dying anyway.

EDIT: Ok, it looks like you'd take a pillow and rip the pillow in half and you get that white flakey, stringlike stuff coming out where the tentacles would be. I put a light on it and it looks like the base expanded a bit but almost appears like the whole top of it (tentacles part) is ripped off. I have found nothing sucked to the powerhead.

Wow, that's interesting, What are your water parameters like? Lights? The last time i had one doing this (as it sounds to me) it's dying. Have you tried to feed it? IF so did it take? What does the mouth look like? Is it falling apart too? Damaged?

Do you have a pic that sums these q's up?

I would say falling apart is a good way of putting it. The foot is still attached but when should I pull it to toss it before it polluted the tank? Would a 5" nem be capable of crashing a tank overnight?

Tricky Dilemma, I would do a large water change and make a last effort to save it, maybe even move it to another tank without other livestock. But if it is still beyond recovery & shows no sign in improving.. pitch it. Still it is a tricky question to answer and Pictures would be useful.

Ok, here is a pic. I'd say it is probably too far gone:

At least it's still under the 2 week warranty.

The lights just turned on and I took it out. There are a few green tentacles left but barely looking somewhat normal and the whole center of the nem looks like it was destroyed.

Luckily my RBTA is still doing alright. Is it alright to feed him with frozen mysis every other night? How much? It is around 3" when fully expanded.

Thanks.

Feeding every other day is to much IMO, but there are many different ways and opinions of feeding Here is a link to a recent thread discussing it (it is still in main screen of the anemone forum). By the looks of your picture I think you have a small chance, especially if there are tentacles left. They are very resilient creatures and can make amazing recoveries.
